Visitor from the Past
Visitor from the Past
“Visitor from the Past” is an award-winning tobacco-use prevention curriculum for students grades 4 through 12. Designed in the unique style of radio drama, “Visitor” tells the story in ten cliff-hanging episodes of George Donovan, veteran reporter for the Daily Telegraph, who, with the help of a Professor Talbour and his wife Willamena, travels backward in time to the year 1618. His plan is to convince Sir Walter Raleigh to return with him to the twentieth century, so he can see for himself all the suffering and illness caused by tobacco. Of course, there are those with vested interests who will stop at nothing to prevent such a scheme from succeeding!
A beautifully illustrated 40-page teacher’s guide accompanies “Visitor,” along with “Talkin’ Tobacco,” a do-it-yourself radio drama script, complete with detailed instructions, that an entire class of students can perform.

What People Say . . .

“Visitor from the Past” is wonderful; I listened to all the segments and it held my attention so much that I did not want to stop before the end! It certainly covers, in a most educational yet fun way, every facet of tobacco education.”

Marcia Nenno, American Lung Association

"Visitor from the Past" Very enjoyable and creative educational curriculum designed to teach kids not to smoke. Two thumbs up!

Kathy Yeates, Former Director California Dept. of Health Education
